VOLUNTEER WITH WMTC

Are you looking for new experiences, challenges or training? Are you retired, semi-retired and looking just for something interesting and satisfying to occupy your spare time? Would you like to become involved? WMTC might have something for you!

Williamstown Musical Theatre Company Inc is a volunteer organisation based in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia and we need personnel of all ages in many areas.

In every WMTC Inc production you will see about 15 to 30 people entertaining you on stage, yet there are a similar number who remain unseen and contribute greatly to every show and our company. We owe our success to the vision and support of these extraordinary individuals.

Whatever your interest is in the theatre, we can offer you great opportunities to get involved, and share skills and experience. We believe our company is an ideal opportunity for local community involvement, at any level, with musical theatre. A theatre company isn’t all about acting, dancing and singing, we offer the opportunity for all aspects of the community to get involved, to get together and support the local community whilst putting on a great show.

We can provide training for the following activities; experience, although desired, is not essential –

• Sewing / Dresser – Costume making, decorating or finishing off

• Child Minding (Junior Program) – current WWC Check required

• Catering / Cooking

• Set Building (carpentry, steel work, welding, etc.)

• Front of House / Ushering

• Front of House / Bar Service (Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate required)

• Marketing / Publicity

• Backstage Crew

• Properties

• Photography

The following activities require experience/ qualifications –

• Production Management

• ​Directing

• Musical Directing

• Choreographer

• Costume Design

• Set Design

• Stage Managing

• Lighting Operator

• Sound Operator

• Lighting Design

• Scenic Art

• Graphic Design

• Wigs / Hair / Make-Up

• Rehearsal Pianist

• Musician

A successful theatre company is the sum of all its parts; it cannot work without a supportive network. As with all voluntary organizations, Williamstown Musical Theatre Company is always in need of new members.
