Our set building and storage facility based at the Hobsons Bay Community Workshops is having some major works completed.
Hobsons Bay City Council, in partnership with the resident user groups of the Hobsons Bay Community Workshops, have been working over recent months to prepare for necessary construction works to be undertaken on the workshops. These works are scheduled to commence in March 2015.
Works to be undertaken include:
- Replacement of the workshops roof
- .Removal of asbestos
- .Building compliance works and
- .Other minor building modifications
Due to safety concerns, the building will need to be vacated from Monday 2 March 2015 until Tuesday 30 June 2015 while works are undertaken.
There will be no access available to the workshops for any member during the construction period, as the site is deemed to be a construction zone.
Where are WMTC going?
The Hobsons Bay City Council has given Williamstown Musical Theatre Company special permission to operate out of our theatre, the Williamstown Mechanics Institute. Set building for our May 2015 production of ‘The Witches of Eastwick’ will proceed within the theatre space working around rehearsals.
If you would like to offer to assist us with set building/ painting, and the list goes on, during this time, we would love to hear from you. Click here to make contact.
