Williamstown Musical Theatre Company is proud to present as part of our 2016 Junior Program SHREK JR running from the 5th to 21st August at the Williamstown Mechanics Institute Theatre.

It’s a “big bright beautiful world” for everyone’s favourite ogre in SHREK JR based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film. In a faraway kingdom, the green ogre Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits, runaways who’ve been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wise-cracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task – if he rescues feisty Princess Fiona from the Dragon-guarded tower, his swamp will be returned to him. But, a fairy tale wouldn’t be complete without unexpected twists and turns along the way. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, SHREK JR is an irreverently fun show for the whole family.

At the Annual General Meeting all positions on the committee become vacant and are available for nomination.

The positions available are:

• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• General Committee (up to 10 positions are available)

All positions are for a one year term. The committee of management meets up to 12 times a year (once a month). Committee Meeting dates are decided each year by the newly elected committee. Further information on the committee of management roles and responsibilities can be found here.

You must be a current financial member/life member of the Company and at least seventeen years of age to stand for a position on the committee.

You must be a current financial member/life member of the Company and at least sixteen years of age to nominate or second a nomination.

Only financial members/life members who are at least sixteen years of age are entitled to a vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Williamstown Musical Theatre Company is pleased to announce our 2016 Junior Program Production – SHREK Jr – The Musical which will be staged at the Williamstown Mechanics Institute Theatre from 5th to 21st August 2016.

Auditions to be held in March/ April.

Early Bird Tickets will be released on Friday 13th May 2016, although tickets are now available as part of our 2016 Season Subscriptions.

Williamstown Musical Theatre Company is very excited to announce the cast of our May 2016 Australian Premiere production of ‘CATCH ME IF YOU CAN‘. 

The production will run from the 6th to 21st May 2016 at the Williamstown Mechanics Institute Theatre. Further information on tickets will be released soon.

The company has made the decision to postpone our concert until Saturday 25th February 2017 at 7.30pm due to an extension of building works at the Williamstown Town Hall, which will now not be completed until mid-2016.

It is unfortunate that we have had to do this but with the company’s intent to reschedule rather than cancel this event, we will be transferring all existing bookings to this new performance date and will re-issue updated tickets and confirmation emails accordingly. Should this not be suitable, please let us know as with this unforeseen change to plans, refunds are also available for any tickets purchased to date.

At WMTC we pride ourselves on our strong relationships and patron satisfaction – therefore we have made contact with all current ticket holders via email to confirm receipt of our notification and acknowledging the transfer of tickets to the new performance date.

The 2015 Music Theatre Guild Nominations have now been released. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the below mentioned people but also congratulate ALL of you who have been a part of our amazing 2015 performance year for Williamstown Musical Theatre Company.

We are extremely proud of the year that we have achieved and thank you all for the hard work and team effort that you have all put in over the last 12 months.

The Judging year for 2015 concluded on the 31st October. Our current production of ‘The Addams Family’ will be included in 2016 Judging year.
